photoshop helps

So I have been slacking on this blog again but I am ending that right now! Instead of scanning in sketches tonight i decided to show some ideas that i've been playing with for my paintings. I am only showing pre-existing paintings that I want to rework(?) add to, i guess. I like my drawings but my paintings tend to get a little boring, a little flat. So earlier this week I opened the painting of Sam with her glasses and started drawing on it with photoshop. I want to make some movement and i like the idea of shapes and color creating space. The idea of creating space by varying the paint shapes. I also like the idea that tone is relative. when a color/tone is next to a lighter shade it seems dark but when it's next to a darker shade, it's light. I wish it was as easy as using photoshop to make changes in my paintings because to add these lines of paint I am going to have to add some, let them dry (over several days, weeks) add some more, wait, add some more. But I want to make interesting, visually arresting paintings, so whatever it takes.
On another note I really have enjoyed playing with Photoshop. It's fun and I will post some drawings that I've made with it over this weekend.
Please if you know these paintings, the way they look now, let me know if the changes make for more interesting paintings.
Thanks.
